Cash Collections at Advanced Care Partners

The Value Creation team partnered with the company to identify lost collections and implement preventative measures to reduce revenue leakage

The Challenge

Advanced Care Partners provides private duty nursing (PDN) and prescribed pediatric extended care (PPEC) services in GA, FL, and TX.

ACP saw significant expansion as the company entered new markets and hired a larger workforce of nurses. However, as this growth continued, the company needed to implement new technology to manage its larger patient population. Through the transition to new Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) software, the business identified inconsistencies in billing and revenue cash collection.

To effectively collect and optimize future cash collections, Advanced Care Partners needed to find a long-term solution to both competitively reimburse nurses and sustain long-term operations.

The Solution

The Value Creation Team partnered with Advanced Care Partners to implement a series of best practices from across the Council ecosystem, including:

  • Council Network: Utilized Council network to leverage revenue cycle experts to identify and eliminate future potential revenue leakage
  • Technology: Partnered with EHR vendor to redesign workflows to support accurate time of billing
  • Reporting: Developed comprehensive reporting tool to identify and prevent future payment issues
  • Process Development: Cultivated repeatable processes to ensure internal teams have the tools and systems to run a best-in-class RCM function
  • Value-Creation Team: Led a process to review each claim through a case-by-case process to retroactively collect pending claims

The Results

In close partnership with the Value Creation Team, Advanced Care Partners identified lost collections, collected outstanding accounts receivable, and implemented future preventative measures to reduce revenue leakage.
