The Challenge

Ingenius Med is a market-leading provider of point-of-care, mobile and cloud-based software solutions that help physicians and care teams focus on revenue-enhancing and cost-reducing workflows that touch patient encounters. Ingenious Med is a heavily utilized, real-time point-of-care solution for clinicians, playing an important role in care coordination and data capture.

When Council Capital first invested in Ingenious Med, the company was a market leader in the hospitalist physician group segment, but it did not have any for-profit health system enterprise customers. In order to tap into the untouched for-profit health system customer base, Ingenious Med needed to both cultivate relationships with large hospital systems and continue penetrating new, non-profit health system providers.

The Solution

The Value Creation Team collaborated with Ingenious Med to implement a series of best practices from across the Council ecosystem, including:

  • Strategy: Broadened distribution channel access to position the company for selling a point-of-care solution for all caregivers, rather than as a narrower physician charge capture product
  • Customer Expansion: Cultivated relationships with more than 35 potential customers and industry influencers to streamline contracts with for-profit US hospitals and non-profit health systems
  • Technology Integration: Developed front- and back-end integrations with electronic medical records to extend the capabilities of existing EMRs in order to provide the holistic point-of-care system necessary for physicians and health systems

The Results

In close partnership with the Value Creation Team, Ingenious Med developed invaluable relationships with new for-profit hospitals to drive top line growth and signed a contract with the largest non-profit health system in the US.
