Growth Strategy at EMIDS
The Value Creation team partnered with the company to further develop its digital infrastructure and improve its growth and profitability
The Challenge
Emids is a specialized healthcare IT services provider that serves payers, providers, and software vendors. EMIDS’ offerings aim to bridge the gap in providing affordable and high-quality healthcare through services, including data engineering, clinical and claims systems, development, custom applications, business intelligence, and specialized consulting services. In 2016, EMIDS was recognized in the top 50 fastest growing firms in middle Tennessee.
Despite this strong foundation, EMIDS faced challenges maintaining its pace of scalable growth. The lack of a structured growth and business development strategy was a barrier to further growth for a fast-expanding EMIDS. The company experienced challenges including product obsolescence, low business user satisfaction, and limited technology infrastructure.
The Solution
The Value Creation Team partnered with EMIDS to implement a series of business best practices from across the Council ecosystem, including:
- Strategy: Acquired Encore Health, which helped to create a holistic and integrated service offering, access to provider market, and an enhanced value proposition for payers, ultimately driving substantial growth
- Technology: Invested in technology infrastructure to support $100M in revenue organized around a next-generation digital offering
- Client Access: Built a renewed business development strategy to evaluate target markets, list potential clients, facilitate key introductions, manage client databases, and improve account management processes
The Results
Incremental revenue collected
Reduction in DSO
Billing hours recovered

We were going through a phase of growth - which can be very challenging for an entrepreneur. Fast-growing companies don’t have trouble accessing capital. What I needed was access to proven company builders who share best practices, open doors to fuel growth and are people I trust to have the company’s best interests at heart.”
