The Challenge
Physician Housecalls is a premier provider of home-based geriatric primary care services across Oklahoma and Kansas.
At the time of Council Capital’s investment, Physician Housecalls had developed a strong clinical model and needed support in optimizing operations to serve patients in need.
The organization had an array of operational needs, across clinical infrastructure, patient acceptance, and visit scheduling. To build operational excellence, serve geriatric patients in need, and build a strong culture, Physician Housecalls needed to professionalize and scale how the organization operated.
The Solution
The Value Creation Team partnered with Physician Housecalls to implement a series of best practices from across the Council ecosystem, including:
- Infrastructure: Implemented “Pod” System in which each provider has a support team of nurses, schedulers, billers, and medical assistants
- Process Improvement: Designed and implemented workforce planning capabilities to optimize provider productivity, accurately forecast provider hiring, and meet built-in revenue demand of census
- New Market Playbook: Implemented New Market Playbook to ensure entry into new geographies
- Compensation: Developed novel provider bonus structure to reward providers for productivity
